What qualifications do I need?
No qualification is needed to compile a Home Information Pack. However, only qualified Domestic Energy Assessors or Home Inspectors may provide an Energy Performance Certificate (a compulsory part of the Pack). Additionally, registered Home Inspectors may carry out a Home Condition Report (an optional part of the Pack).
Searches may only be provided by the owners of the data (e.g. a local authority) or a private search company or individual who has the necessary skill and knowledge and has the required minimum level of professional indemnity insurance.
