Local Property Searches and Leasehold Information report

On 12 June 2008, Ted Beardsall CBE, Deputy Chief Executive of Land Registry published a report Local Property Searches and Leasehold Information, which confirmed the longstanding issues in the provision and costs of leasehold information. Home Information Pack Area Trials - Research Report
6 March 2008. Prior to the introduction of Home Information Packs, Communities and Local Government undertook eight area trials of HIPs which ran from November 2006 to April 2007. The purpose of these trials was to improve the HIP product and processes, and inform policy. Ipsos MORI were commissioned to track the HIPs produced as part of these trials and monitor the perceptions of stakeholders involved in the trials. This report presents the main research findings based around the three main research questions.

Home Information Packs - Housing Market Analysis
November 2007: This report estimates the potential impact of Home Information Packs (HIPs) on the housing market. In particular, the analysis models what the impacts on the number of properties listed for sale might be, focussing on the period of transition.

HIP - Baseline Research
In March 2006, the Department of Communities and Local Government commissioned a research project to establish the baseline for home buying and selling activity in England and Wales. The research was designed to address the basis for and key indicators for the introduction of the Home Information Packs.
